Travis Kelce to Get an Extension and Become the Sports’ Highest Paid Tight End

Travis Kelce, the standout tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has secured yet another milestone in his career with a two-year contract extension, binding him to the Super Bowl-winning team until the 2027 season. This extension will make him become the highest-paid tight ends in the league.

Already, Kelce is a four-time All-Pro and has been a pivotal force for the Chiefs since being drafted in the third round back in 2013. His on-field prowess includes two consecutive Super Bowl victories with Kansas City, cementing his legacy as one of the franchise’s greats.

On-field and off-field, Kelce has been an inspiration. Off the field, he is almost an entertainer and pop culture enthusiast – associating with music icon Taylor Swift and appearing on popular programs like “Saturday Night Live.”

At first, Kelce signed a four-year, $57.25m (£45m) extension with Kansas City in 2020, after spending an initial five-year term, which he signed in 2016. Now, he’s getting another contract extension to once again make him one of the league’s highest-paid tight ends.

Kelce’s contract extension was gladly accepted by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who expressed his commitment to keeping Kelce on the team. He went on his X page to say, “I told y’all I’ll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!”

Kelce and Patrick’s on-field chemistry has been a key factor in the Chiefs’ success, including their memorable Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers.

Beyond football, Kelce’s influence extends to the podcasting world, where he co-hosts ‘New Heights’ with his brother, and soon, to television with an upcoming quiz show on Amazon Prime. His multifaceted career continues to reach new heights, both on and off the field.
